Leo-Grabill Baseball League
The Leo-Grabill Recreational Baseball League boasts a long-standing tradition of teaching the game of baseball to the youth in Leo and Grabill, Indiana. This is a developmental league, playing on excellent facilities, and teaching all levels of the game of baseball. With coaches pitch, machine pitch, and kid pitch levels, players who play in our league are (1) taught the game in all phases and (2) have fun every Spring and Summer playing ball with their friends.
Age Divisions for 2025 Season
Age as of 5/1/2025
- Tee Ball: ages 4-5. This division will focus on the basics, learning hitting and fielding fundamentals in a supportive team environment. Young athletes hit the ball from a batting tee which is height-adjusted for a level swing, batting in order through the line-up for the entire game. The primary goal is to begin to instruct young players in the fundamentals of baseball in a supportive and fun team environment. This league is designed for only one year of play. We recommend moving to the Coaches Pitch division if you played T-ball in the year prior.
- Coaches Pitch: ages 5-6. Designed to build on the fundamentals of Tee-Ball, this league will also be highly focused on fundamentals, with the introduction of a coach pitching (on a knee from a short distance). If a child is unsuccessful in getting a hit after a series of pitches from the coach, they have the opportunity to hit off a tee. All players will bat through the entire line-up each inning.
- Prep League: ages 6-8. This division utilizes a pitching machine to allow for more hittable balls at the plate and more advanced action in the field. This level builds on the skill development and begins to introduce game strategy and more rules of baseball, including positional players, introducing a catcher, and implementing three outs.
- Minors: ages 8-10. This division is the introduction to player pitch. Players build and refine their fundamental skills while beginning to understand game strategy and teamwork.
- Majors: ages 11-12. This division continues to expand on the game strategy and pitching development. Games for this division will play other local leagues, which includes traveling to play games at other local fields.
***Parents select which age division they want their child to play as some leagues over lap in age. Parents please reach out to league if you would like to move your child up or down a league. ***
